Velma Elizabeth Crane, beloved wife of the late Elmer M.; loving mother of Michael (Nancy) Crane, Gael Crane, Susan (Jim) Crowley, Cathryn Lynn, Julie and Joyce Ann Crane. Cherished grandmother of Susan and Christopher (Sue) Crowley, Robert “Tony” (Letty) Marsico, Cathleen “Moon” (Tim Balin) Crowley, Cathryn “Boop” (Larry) Kern, Colleen (Bill) Metz, Jeanne (Ken) Walters, Jennifer Hahne, Caroline T. Crane and great grandmother of 16. Dear sister of the late Eleanor Vogler. Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Detroit, MI, Velma was a graduate of St. Joseph Nursing School in South Bend, IN where she met her husband Elmer, a Notre Dame Law School Graduate. Velma and Elmer later moved to Sauganash where they raised their 6 children. Beside her love of her family and friends, Velma was an avid bowler well into her 80’s and a devoted fan of Notre Dame Football.

Funeral Information

Visitation Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 9:15 AM-10:15 AM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Avenue, Chicago. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:30 AM at Queen of All Saints Basilica.
