Alfred Mechnig, beloved husband of Juliette "Julie" C. (nee De Backer). Loving father of Mark and David (Virginia). Dearest grandfather of Rebecca "Sweetie", Michael and Matthew Mechnig. Cherished son of the late Henry and Amelia Mechnig and son-in-law of the late Leon and Marie De Backer. Best friend of Georgette "Georgie" Callen. Special memories to his childhood friends and all of his new friends along the wayAl was a Past Worshipful Master of Hesperia Lodge #411. Married to Julie for 59 years, Al was a kind caring person who was there for everyone.

Funeral service Tuesday 11:00 am at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Interment Irving Park Cemetery. Visitation Monday 3-9 PM with a Masonic Service held at 8:00 pm.
