Ken Guilette of South Barrington passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Pepper Family Hospice Home in Barrington. Born December 4, 1940, in Red River, Wisconsin, Ken attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, as well as an MBA from Central Michigan University. After working for large companies for many years, Ken fulfilled a lifelong dream of entrepreneurship by owning and successfully operating Riverside Laboratories in Geneva from 1987 to 1998. Ken was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Community and the Peninsula Belgian American Club, as well as an avid family historian and genealogist, and fluent speaker of Walloon. Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Judy; his three children: Michael (Jerri) Guilette, Lisa (Dan) Cork, and Heather (Jack) Walser; nine grandchildren: Jessica (Scott) Farwell, Kristyn, Rachel, Lauren, and Andrew Guilette, Sam, Quinn, Henry, and Charlie Walser; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Beatrice (Gaspard) Guilette. Funeral InformationVisitation Tuesday, August 31, 3:00-9:00PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy, Palatine and Wednesday Sept. 1, 10:00AM until time of Mass at 11:00AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
