Sharon Gottstein, 75, of Lincolnwood died March 17, 2017 from kidney disease. Sharon was the daughter of Harry and Carolyn Klotz, wife of Gregory, mother of Jennifer Shinabarger, loving grandmother of Eli, Emmie and Roland and sister of Cindi Miceli. Sharon was a graduate of Roosevelt University where she developed her gift of a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Ravinia and Grant Park. Sharon continued her love of singing and sang with various community choral groups until ill health forced her to retire from singing. From early childhood, Sharon wanted to be a teacher and had a career of teaching in the Chicago Public Schools for 35 years. She spent most of her early years teaching at the Melody School followed by many years at the Sauganash School. Sharon loved teaching and her students and will be fondly remembered by her hundreds of former students. Sharon was an avid fisherwoman and spent many summers fishing in Ontario. Sharon will be sorely missed by all those friends and relatives whose lives were touched by her loving and sensitive nature. Services and interment will be private.
