Condolences for Patrick J. Mooney

Patrick was my best friend for 7th, 8th, and high school. He was one of my favorite people and I looked up to him. I have great memories of us making jokes in class, working on homework together and building robots in gtt. We always made fun of each other for our design flaws for our 3-d houses we created on our computers in cad. He made fun of me about not getting to the design section as fast as he did, and I made fun of him for not designing his roof. We always talked about our future, and what jobs we wanted to have. Patrick got me into computers and hardware engineering and I will live that dream out for him. We only went out 3 times but we had so many more unfulfilled plans. I have the best memories with him in reading class of 8th grade, that’s where we really clicked. He helped me leave my comfort zone and got me to try working out and gaining more weight. I never felt insecure when he commented on me, because unlike everyone else, Patrick meant it in a helpful way. When I found out what happened I freaked out and stopped talking to people. May my best friend truly Rest In Peace. My condolences to the family. You are all in my prayers each night.

We were in the hospital doing team building activities and we were doing one with pvc pipes that were cut in half and marbles. We were all so terrible at doing it but Patrick led us and he was the only reason we made it all the way to the end. He got so frustrated when we couldn’t do it right but he got so happy when we did it.

Patrick and I met in 2nd grade when I first moved. He was one of my first friends I had made and was so kind to me. I rememeber we always used to play with legos and I used to be so jealous because he had all the coolest legos. Patrick was always the class clown and ALWAYS made people smile. Even people he didn’t even know he made smile. Over the years me and Patrick drifted a bit but we still talked a lot and he always came to me whenever he needed anything and I came to him whenever I needed something. We were always there for each other and that’s the biggest thing I lost. I lost a best friend and someone who was always there for me. My family and I offer our deepest condolences for the Mooney family. Patrick, you will be missed but I know you’re with us.

Patrick and I met in Junior High during track and field in 8th grade. He had an extremely likable personality, and would always make me as well as people around him laugh. Some of my fondest memories with Patrick was during the track season when we both ran the 800 meter and we both finished in the top two and then pranked some of our other friends, English class in the beginning of the school year as he brought life to the classroom, as well as my favorite memory, getting to know him while waiting for our next races we talked about what we liked to do and what we wanted to do when we grew up. We got to know each other pretty quickly and developed a great friendship. Patrick will forever be in my heart and mind, as well as in all my prayers. My family and I would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Mooney family for the loss of a great child. Patrick, you will be forever missed.
