Marine Veteran Jeffrey E. Francis, passed away after a long, courageous battle with a terminal illness. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend to many. Jeff went to Saint Theresa grade school, graduated from Palatine High School, where he lettered in football, and attended Harper College. He proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps, Fox Co. 2/5 where he completed three tours of duty. He attained the rank of Corporal before receiving his honorable discharge. His family and friends are very proud of him for his service to our country. Jeff was a lifelong learner with a keen interest in American history and nature. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for fishing, hiking, camping, sunsets and thunderstorms. Jeff was also an animal lover, who shared a special connection with each dog he met. Jeff was also known for being an adventurous chef, who loved to try new recipes, incorporating hot sauces to almost every meal. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, beautiful smile and love of life. Jeff’s family has decided to have a private service to celebrate his life and service to our country. He leaves behind his loving parents, Elizabeth (nee Cain) and Gary Francis, adored brother Scott (Katherine), and niece and nephew: Jacob and Olivia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
