Joan Piasecki, 82, of Schaumburg, IL, passed away on September 5, 2020 ending her battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She passed exactly one week after her husband Victor’s funeral began, which was at 10:30 a.m. on August 29, 2020.
Joan was born on October 27, 1937 to John and Lucille Klucinec in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. She was the older sister to Robert and Richard. After high school she went to a secretarial college and worked for a local business until she married.

Joan met the love of her life, Victor Piasecki, at a singles group at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in September of 1958. They went on their first date in October 1958, were engaged in November 1958 and married on February 7, 1959.

Joan was predeceased by her husband Victor, her parents, and her brother Richard. She is survived by her brother Robert, her 5 children David (Carol), Michael (Sarah), Mary Lou (Edwin Paff), Susan (Gregory Armstrong) and Victoria (Shaun Haase); her 10 grandchildren Katherine (Filip Zucek), Annie, Adam, Samantha, Christine, Brooks, Sophia, Cassie, Anthony and Kevin; and her great-grandson Alister Zucek.

Joan relished getting a good deal and instructed her children in the fine art of using coupons! She taught them to use money wisely, to save for a rainy day and to help those in need. Joan and Victor had many friends and belonged to several bridge groups, a church bowling league and their Wormburners’ golf group. We remember so many family parties and good times!

Joan was full of life and affectionately addressed as “cute little Nana” by her grandchildren. She was known for her candor and was not afraid to speak her mind. She loved her family with all her heart and shared her values, strong work ethic, faith, love of cooking and family traditions.
