Margot “Peggy” Forbes, nee Burke, of Northbrook, IL passed away peacefully on October 8, 2021. Born December 10, 1927 to the late James and Irene, nee Holverson, Burke in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 33 wonderful years, Arthur “Buzz” Forbes, grandson Christopher LoPinto and sister Diane Gallagher.

 

An incredible, inspirational matriarch, whose legacy and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.  Peggy is survived by daughters Christine (Kevin) LaRue, Claudia (Frank) Parisi, Pamela Forbes, Kathleen (Royce) Heaney, Patricia (Glynn) Elliott, and son Mark (Patricia) Forbes; grandchildren Michael (Clare) LoPinto, Tracey LoPinto, Ryan (Leah) Schmidt, Brian (Jennifer) Parisi, Christine Parisi, Shannon (Joe) Miller, William Grady, Eric (Jackie) Forbes, Adam Forbes, Alyssa Forbes, Colleen Elliott, Margaret Elliott, Glynn Elliott IV, and Ian Elliott;  and great-grandchildren Kellen, Sean, Alexandra and Grady; her adoring siblings James (Anita) Burke, Patricia Burke, and Thomas Burke and all of her nieces and nephews.

 

Peggy was an extraordinary woman whose positive, persevering attitude, humor, and approach to life, made her an inspiration to all who knew her. She was eternally present in the moment and relished spending time with family.  She had a passion for golf and bridge, and also enjoyed reading, watching her soap operas, and indulging in chocolates. An avid bridge player, Peggy played in several groups all the way up until 2020. Peggy was a parishioner of Queen of All Saints Basilica in Chicago for nearly 80 years and was a member of the first graduating class of Queen of All Saints school in 1941.

 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 16th, from 9 A.M. – 11 A.M. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Avenue, Chicago, IL followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 A.M. at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash, Chicago, IL. Interment at All Saints Cemetery, 700 North River Road, Des Plaines, IL.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in loving memory of Peggy to Queen of All Saints Basilica at 6280 N. Sauganash, Chicago, IL.
