Robert L. Rappel Jr. (Bob), passed away peacefully while in the compassionate care of the Rainbow Hospice Unit of Resurrection Hospital, following pneumonia/system failures.  Bob graduated from St. Benedict’s Grammar School, Loyola Academy (On the Lake) and Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.

After his US Army service, Bob lived for several years in southern California and then returned to Chicago where he had careers in Pharmaceutical Sales, Retail Management and Banking.  Robert was a long-time parishioner of Queen of All Saints Basilica, where he sang for many years with the Choir.  He also sang with the Our Lady of Ransom Choir.  In his later years Bob was a resident of the Glen Saint Andrews Living Community, Niles, Illinois.
Robert was a kind, loving, Christian gentleman who greatly enjoyed the “creative arts” including: music of many genres, art, opera and was himself a talented pianist and singer.  He enjoyed foreign, domestic and ski travel.
Robert remained a bachelor and is survived by an adopted sister, Margaret Longeway/Rappel Collins (Andrew), sister-in-law Jeanne Rappel (late Thomas), Suzanne Rappel, Kathleen Kline (Jeff), Michael Collins (Lori), Patrick Collins, Daniel Rappel (Lisa) and fifteen great nieces/nephews.
Robert has been reunited with his parents the late:  Kathleen (nee Longeway), Robert, Sr. and brother, Thomas and his many relatives and friends who have gone ahead and welcomed him lovingly into their arms leading him into the Paradise God has prepared for his faithful.  God Bless you dear Bob and God Bless Us All.
