Ronald L. Cox passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
He was born to the late Harley and Dorothy Cox on November 6, 1945, in Independence, KS. Ron was the beloved husband to his wife of 51 years, Susan Cox (Newlin). He was the dedicated father to Matthew Cox and Amy (Jonathan) Pease and loving papa to Jack and Tyler Pease. He was a cherished uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. His relentless work ethic was matched by no other which was proven by 36 years of ownership of Palatine Oil Co., Inc. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and always having time to lend his ear to anyone. His favorite place on earth was Napili Kai Beach Resort where he met many wonderful friends. He also leaves behind many wonderful close friends at home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him!
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, August 13 from 4PM-8PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 6PM at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067. We would love to honor his memory by wearing Hawaiian attire, if possible. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Misericordia Home.

Dan and I are their neighbors at Lake Carroll Sec. 27 Lot 50 and totally enjoyed their fireworks display every year. UNBELIEVABLE and UNBEATABLE!!!
