Wendy Kay Bihler, age 73, of Glenview, passed from her earthly life on Thursday morning, July 1st, 2021, at Elevate Care in Riverwoods, Illinois after a lengthy battle with many health issues. Wendy was born June 28th, 1948 to Robert Woodrow and Doxie Lorraine Bihler, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was welcomed home by her big brother, Woodrow Bihler, and was christened into Christian faith on October 17, 1948 at First Mission Covenant Church, Albion and Artesian Avenues, Chicago.

The only home Wendy ever knew and loved was the one her father built on Raleigh Road in Glenview where she was surrounded by loving and caring neighbors, John and Nancy Scheid, Carol White, Cathy Buckland and John, Steve and Sue Rieber and others who supported Wendy in her desire to remain in her home. They survive to remember her. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Kris Bihler of Arizona, her niece, Britany Bihler (Matt) Huff of California, and Great- nephews, Travis Woodrow and Camden Matthew Huff; a niece Erin (Kevin) Johnson and their children, Wyatt Paul and Willow Irene Johnson; her cousins, Ruth Lombard of Texas, and Harry F. Krauspe III “Duke” (Cheryl) of Elburn, IL, along with the others in the family she continued to collectively refer to as the “Krauspe Kids,” now all very much adults, John (Patty Duffy), Mary (Karl Jobe), George, Gordon (Claudia), and Liese Krauspe Gavin.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bob and Dottie Bihler, her devoted brother, Woody Bihler, her grandparents, Harry and Doxie (Stevens) Krauspe of Chicago and Emil and Amanda (Hochmeister) Bihler of Chicago, and a dear cousin, Robert Schmidt, of Arlington Heights.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation from 11am -12 on Thursday, July 8th at the Smith and Corcoran Funeral Home at 1104 Waukegan Road in Glenview.

A brief memorial service will commence at 11:30 am.
