In support of our troops, Smith-Corcoran Funeral Homes offers burial and cremation services to our U.S. veterans in the Chicago area. We can arrange for an array of veterans services ranging from custom military headstones, memorial burials, burial allowances, funerals with military honors, veterans memorials, flags given to the spouse or family, financial contributions to honorably discharged veterans, to burial in a national cemetery.
Our owner, Bob Smith is a proud U.S. Army veteran and knows the sacrifices veterans and their family’s make to protect our freedom.
Bob Smith from his Army days
Bob’s niece and nephew, Megan and Michael Donnelly are U.S. Naval Academy graduates and currently on active duty protecting our freedom. Jay Smith’s grandfather, John E. Ruddy proudly served our country in WWII. Our family has a strong connection to our military and veterans. We know without the courage of our veterans we would not have the same liberties we enjoy today.
We are here to make the process as easy as possible. To help here is a link to the Veterans Administration Burial Benefits and to our nearest national cemetery: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. All honorably discharged veterans are eligible for free burial and honors in a national cemetery. Veterans are also eligible for other benefits like headstones or bronze markers and possibly other financial benefits for those who pass at a Veterans Administration hospital. Our staff are experts in arranging veterans services from burials to cremations to memorials. We take pride in honoring the lives of our veterans and providing veterans services at the highest level just as they have served our country.
