Jacquie & Laura,
We send our deepest condolences to you on Jerry's passing. He was a great husband and father who showed up wherever & whenever needed. A very caring & gentle man who we know will be greatly missed. We wish we could be with you in person to offer our support, but unfortunately, today's covid circumstances & restrictions make us too uncomfortable & will prevent our presence at the wake. We trust you understand. Do know, though, that we are holding you in our hearts and are sending our love and our prayers to you during this very sad time.

My deepest sympathy. Jerry was a very kind and caring person. He subbed for me and others in the World Languages Department. I remember that Jerry called me to congratulate me on an election that I had won for a National position. He was always professional and easy to work with. He will truly be missed.

Dear Toigo family,
We are all saddened with the news and will certainly miss Jerry at his "Iris Gate" post. He took his job very seriously and professionally too. We always knew exactly where to park when he was on duty.

Jerry and I shared many summer hours at Ravinia's Iris gate where the performers come in to park for the show. This was one of his many jobs in a ceaselessly hard-working, Energizer bunny lifetime. He was a master at handling the puzzle of parking and the sieving out of who was allowed and who was just confused. I will miss his enthusiasm, diligence, and his stories dearly.

Jacquie & Laura, I'm very grateful for the time I visited Jerome and you, I'm sorry I didn't spend more time with him, I wish I got out there more often. I learned about Chicago, where my father was born, from Jerome. My father & grandfather thought a lot of your side of the family, that's why I'm named for Jerome's grandfather. I remain proud of that, proud to be Jerome's cousin.
